External Insulation Specialists Kilkenny
House wrapping, also referred to as external wall insulation, is one of the most worthwhile improvements you can make to an older or solid walled property in Kilkenny. By encasing the outside of your home in a continuous layer of insulation, we remove the cold bridging and heat loss that occur through exposed walls, significantly improve the building’s energy efficiency, and at the same time provide the exterior with a fresh, contemporary and fully weatherproof finish.
It is the perfect solution for homes that are unable to accommodate cavity insulation or that simply require a new lease of life.
When we wrap a house in Kilkenny we mechanically fix and bond insulation boards, either EPS (expanded polystyrene) or, where additional strength and moisture resistance are required, XPS (extruded polystyrene), across the full external face of the wall.
Over these boards we apply a reinforced base coat with an embedded fibreglass mesh to produce a robust, crack resistant surface, and we finish the entire elevation in a through coloured silicone render. Silicone render is breathable, self cleaning and highly durable, meaning the new finish continues to look great and stands up to the weather for many years to come.
All detailing around windows, doors, sills and roof lines is completed to an exceptional standard so the finished home is both beautifully presented and thoroughly protected. To discuss external wall insulation and rendering for your property, or to arrange a free survey and quotation anywhere in Kilkenny, call Kilkenny Insulation on 087 391 1659.
